Dare to dream of a world free from female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C)!
We can all play a part however small in the fight to #endfgm
We have just launched an appeal for funds to pay for this year's annual alternative rite of passage ceremony (ARP) and Public Abandonment ceremony in North Pokot , a remote area of Pokot county where FGM rates are very high. In most villages almost 100% of the girls are cut, drop out of school are then married off.
These girls are practising their dances for the final day of celebration where they will join the rest of the community in declaring and end to FGM/C and early/child/forced "marriage" (ECFM) and will graduate to be considered mature responsible young adults but without any genital cutting.
The girls/young women can now dream of a future without FGM and can choose their own path in life.
